Out of the Office

I used to [humorously] judge people who brought their work to coffee houses. Did they really have work to do, or did they just want to make the rest of us feel guilty for not bringing our work with us?

Except now I’ve turned into one of those “work over coffee” girls.

Turns out, it’s a good alternative to my office on days I need a change of scenery (+ a creativity boost). Maybe the caffeine helps. But more than that, it’s the setting. I think we’re all all hesitant to break from our routines, but that’s precisely what drives positivity and the development of new ideas.

Break from your routine. Take a different route to work Monday morning. Sleep on the other side of the bed [gasp]. And bring your work someplace other than your office. Happy weekend…

Also, you MUST read the “Fight On” book pictured ($12 via Amazon). It’s packed full of positive quotes and it turns all my bad days into good ones. Really. Read it.
