Clarity and Chaos in NYC

My body is still trying to warm up post-NYC. Apparently, my Michigan-bred blood has already [and pathetically] thinned to an LA-sort-of-level.
Thin blood aside, New York woke me up. To new sounds, new ideas, new dreams. There’s something about the Big Apple that requires me to grow up. Perhaps it’s because the city leaves me no choice but to identify clarity somewhere within chaos; mindfulness within madness; peace within prolonged noise.
New York Fashion Week generates a sort of buzz that’s hard to tune out. But there was a brief moment between shows last week when the static noise silenced, and I heard only my breath battling winter.
That’s when I found my clarity, my mindfulness, my peace.
Maybe the world won’t slow down for us. But we can slow the world down if we’re willing to silence the hype— if even only for a moment.
I spent New York Fashion Week identifying trends we can expect to see come fall [Hello, 70’s!] I’ll be sharing those trends with C Magazine later this week (+ how you can take those styles to the streets). Look for a link to my article by following along via Instagram, Facebook or Twitter.
