Real Success Requires Change

Today is the start of the [official] new year. Meaning, carolers have all gone home. Holiday lights are down. Santa is snoozing for the next six months. And we’re all expected to be back at work. Except for those of you caught in snowpocalypse right now. Reality can be so rude sometimes.

Success is best achieved through maintaining a constant willingness to evolve.

It can be especially rude while staring at dozens of resolutions we’ve made for ourselves. The gym will start noticing if we don’t show up.

What’s tougher— is we’re no longer “dreaming” of our resolutions. Rather, we have to start working toward them. Whether your goals are work-related, emotionally charged or off-the-charts ambitious, they require change.

Your schedule may change. Your relationships may change. Your work may change. But change is as terrifying as it is refreshing.

The terrifying part blocks us from switching career paths and evaluating our eating habits. It blocks us from dreaming too big and risking too much. It blocks us from sharing our hearts and promising our best.

As you start tackling 2014, remember this: success is best achieved through maintaining a constant willingness to evolve. Change prompts growth, and growth prompts change— which is why we must fearlessly face both.
