DIY: Chic Pumpkins
I’m not big on carving pumpkins. The guts have always grossed me out, and I’ve nearly stabbed myself a dozen times trying to make Frankenstein-lookalikes [seriously].
The good news is — I’ve got something far chicer than Frankenstein for you. Save yourself a trip to the ER this Halloween, and skip carving altogether. Instead, indulge in these DIY ideas that will make pumpkins look good in your house through Thanksgiving! The perfect fall decor that’s easy, fun + injury-free.
Materials: white pumpkins + silver thumbtacks
Instructions: create designs by merely pressing thumbtacks firmly into your pumpkin — either along the creases, or in sections of your choice!
Materials: pumpkins [any color], metallic paint + brush
Instructions: simply start painting your pumpkin in metallic hues, carefully covering the area around the stem. You can skip the underside of the pumpkin altogether, or, hold the pumpkin by its stem to reach the bottom [hold for 5 minutes to allow for dry time].
Materials: white pumpkins, glue gun, glitter [in your favorite color] + paper dish
Instructions: channel your childhood project-making days for this one! Once your glue gun is ready to use, create three small circles at a time. Then, hold your pumpkin by its stem and sprinkle glitter over the glue. Continue this step until each side of the pumpkin is decorated in glittery dots.
TA-DA! You’re done. Now brag about your DIY skillz to your friends…
