Get Cozy with a Christmas Cocktail

Merry Christmas Eve! I hope you’re indulging in cozy fires and large cups of hot cocoa.

I’m working a short day this morning, then hurrying home to wrap gifts while sipping on a pre-Christmas cocktail. Maybe it will kick my cold to the curb. Why do illnesses always hit at the holidays?!

Treat yourself to a festive drink tonight. Here are my favorites (which are almost too pretty to drink).

More importantly, hug your family. Say ‘I love you’ more than you should. And celebrate all of God’s miracles. Sending my love to all of you.

1. Spiked Peppermint Hot Cocoa: Hot Chocolate Mix (my favorite is at William Sonoma, but any mix works), Baileys, Peppermint Marshmallows (found here + here) + Whipped Cream

Prepare your hot chocolate on the stove, or as directed on packaging. Add 1.5 oz Baileys. Stir Well and pour into a mug. Slide peppermint marshmallows on a long toothpick as a garnish. Top with whipped cream + serve with peppermint bark.

2. Pomegranate Martini: Vodka, Pomegranate Juice, Cointreau, Rosemary

In a shaker, combine ice, 2 oz vodka, 1/3 c pomegranate juice + 2 tbs cointreau. Shake well. Pour into a classic martini glass and garnish with a rosemary stem.

3. Candy Cane Mojito: Rum, Mint, Lime, Brown Sugar, Soda Water + Candy Cane

In a shaker, muddle two mint sprigs. Add half of a lime squeezed, 1.5 oz rum and 1.5 tbs brown sugar. Shake well. Pour over ice and top with soda water. Garnish with mint stems and a candy cane.
