Throw a Party on Super Bowl Sunday

Super Bowl Sunday is one of the happiest days of the year. Mostly because it’s totally appropriate to overeat, drink and cuss at your television— even if you have no clue what you’re cussing over.

My family always celebrates with a big party, which inspired me to share a few fun and easy entertaining ideas. They’ll work regardless of what foods you’re planning to serve. Just mix in these fun accessories  (+ beer and custom cocktails) and you’ll look like the MVP of Super Bowl parties.

Links to replicate everything are below. Most of it can be done in one trip to Party City! Happy cussing.

COCKTAILS: For your Seahawks fans, muddle two mint sprigs and 1/2 c blueberries in a shaker. Add half of a lime squeezed, 1.5 oz rum and 1 tbs brown sugar. Shake well. Pour over ice and top with soda water. For your Patriots fans, combine 1.5 oz cherry vodka, 1 oz fresh lime juice, 2 oz cranberry juice and top with soda water. Garnish with cherries.

CANDIES: Combine rock candy, malt balls and chocolate bites in the appropriate colors, and serve them from cocktail glasses. You can achieve a similar look with skittles, starbursts, m&m’s, etc.

CUPCAKES: Bake or purchase cupcakes topped with white frosting. Place edible footballs on each one. I picked mine up from Party City ($3). You can also use festive toothpicks.

NUTS + POPCORN: A number of stores have football-themed serving pieces on sale right now. Click here for the football cartons ($4), and here for the football serving dish ($10).

FRUIT SKEWERS: For the Seahawks, alternate between blueberries and sliced kiwi. For the Patriots, alternate between blueberries and strawberries.

PAPER PRODUCTS: Browse your local party or grocery store for team-colored products. I’m also loving these numbered cups! They’re reusable and great for all parties (no more cup mixups)!

OUTFIT: Go comfortable. Click here for the zip-up, and here for the vest (both from J. Crew).
