Football Sunday with Tommy Bahama
My husband argues football season is the happiest time of the year. He likes it for the sport. I like it for the parties. Cocktails + a burger? Yes, please. Tommy Bahama helped to step it up a notch, with everything from quesadillas to ribs to fish tacos for our friends to indulge in.
Of course, I also had to look the part of a super fan with the help of Tommy Bahama and its new NFL collection… No heels allowed. Spoil yourselves this weekend and throw a par-TAY!
New cocktail recipes + DIY entertaining ideas are below…
Mint Julep: 2 oz. Spirit of America bourbon | 1 oz. mint simple syrup | mint leaves + lemon slice
On the Menu: Ahi Tacos | Chicken Lollipops | Smokehouse Sliders | Roasted Pulled Pork Quesadilla | Duo of Dips: Guacamole + Pub Cheese | Baby Back Pork Ribs | Blackened Fish Tacos
Ahi Tacos [full recipe here] | Ingredients: 8 wonton tacos | 2 oz. Asian slaw | 2 tsp. lime vinaigrette | 4 oz. Ahi tuna | 4 oz. Ahi tuna taco dressing | 4 tsp. wasabi lime avocado sauce | 1 tsp. sesame seeds | 2 tsp. red bell pepper | 2 tsp. scallions
DIY Food Labels | Cut football shapes from recycled brown grocery bags. Draw two parallel lines with white marker or chalk. Write the food’s name in the center. Clip the label to a clothespin.
DIY Snack Bags | Use brown lunch bags + white tape. Cut one long strip of tape [for the center] and three shorter strips [to run horizontally], to make the bags look like footballs!
Melon Mint Mule (on right): 2 oz. vodka | 4-6 oz. ginger beer | 1 half lime | 3 cubes watermelon | mint leaves + lime slice
Toothpick Flags | Wrap a piece of colored tape around a toothpick so the two sides meet. Cut the tape into a triangle to form a flag. Another option is to cut triangles out of colored felt and tape each piece to a toothpick.
Thank you, Tommy Bahama, for the food + apparel!
