Candied Popcorn + Sangria on the Fourth
Happy almost Fourth of July! Seriously, are you as excited as I am?! Naturally, I’m already thinking about what I’ll be eating and drinking this weekend [duh]. So, I rounded up a festive sip and snack for you — candied popcorn + sweet sangria!
You already know I’m better at presenting food than I am cooking it. So, as always, these are simple and sweet recipes that will look stellar on your snacks table… [sorry, diet].
Patriotic Popcorn | serves 4
Ingredients: 6 cups popcorn | 1 cup white Candy Melts | Assorted sprinkles in festive colors
Directions: Place popcorn in a festive serving bowl. Heat Candy Melts on the stove according to package instructions. Pour melted candy evenly over popcorn and mix well. Add colorful sprinkles (we chose red, blue and silver stars) and serve.
Sangria | serves 6-8
Ingredients: 1 bottle of red wine (suggested Pinot Noir) | 2 cups cranberry juice | 1 cup brandy | 1.5 cups soda water | 2 large oranges (1 juiced, 1 sliced) | 1/2 cup simple syrup | 2 cups blueberries | 2 cups raspberries | 1 large apple | 1 cup strawberries | Ice
Directions: Combine all ingredients (except soda water and ice) in your dispenser. Place in the refrigerator and chill for 2 hours. Add soda water before serving. Pour over ice and garnish each glass with a fresh strawberry.
