What’s in my Hospital Bag

Lots of mamas keep telling me to pack my hospital bag now — or at least, to have the essentials ready to toss in a duffle for when I go into labor. I’ve been pretty relaxed on the planning end of things this whole pregnancy, so packing a bag didn’t occur to me until a friend of mine unexpectedly went into labor weeks early. Message taken — I’ll pack the hospital bag! I started to do some research, and have a small pile going.

I’ve included the basics — from pajama sets, to nursing tanks, to the baby’s going home outfit — to the not-so-basics, from faux candles, to a bottle of champagne, to an iPhone dock for music. I’ve heard the hospital will take care of the baby’s essentials while there, including diapers, wipes, onesies, etc. Hoping I won’t forgot something important!

It’s tough to know precisely what will make me feel most comfortable. I did some reading, and included pieces most mamas recommend in their hospital bag. I’d love to know your essentials if you’ve been through this! Watch my video below for what I’ve got so far…

My mom and brother surprised me another super sweet idea this week. They gifted us two cashmere blankets — one blue, one blush, to bring to the hospital. We can wrap the little one in whichever blanket suits the babe best, once we know if it’s a boy or a girl. The other can either be gifted to another family in the hospital! How sweet is that idea?!
