Creating Memories | Our Holiday Traditions with Ev

This holiday season has felt especially sweet, now that our boy is big enough to really feel the joy of Christmas. He belly laughs over Santa’s beard, is enchanted by twinkling lights, and happily screams for just one more sip of hot cocoa (his new favorite). He may or may not have experienced the joy of his first sugar high this season, but I’m counting it as a #momwin because he was seriously giddy over it.

We snapped our holiday card right after Thanksgiving this year, and kept it cozy at our place. I intially dreamed of a snowy backdrop, but we couldn’t wait for our Aspen trip and still get the cards out in time! So home sweet home it was.

Ev was (mostly) happy, with only a few minor meltdowns in between all of those “cheeeeeeses” we asked of him. We also bribed him with cookies…. again, #momwin. My favorite snap was this one below, of Evan covering his eyes as Jake and I kissed. We were DYING because we didn’t ask him to do it! Apparently he’s not into our PDA.

Also, can we talk about the attitude our first born (mr. Jett) is giving in these fam pics?! LOL.

Some of my favorite holiday traditions this year have been close to home. Things like picking out our tree, snapping our holiday card, and decorating the house. We also took our first snowy trip together as a family last week to Aspen and it was MAGIC (more photos to come from that later).

  1. 1. Go to the Christmas tree farm.
  2. 2. Decorate gingerbread cookies.
  3. 3. Snap our holiday card.
  4. 4. Head somewhere snowy.
  5. 5. Sip on hot cocoa.
  6. 6. Fill an ornament with notes of gratitude.
  7. 7. Allow Ev to decorate his own tree.
