Baby’s Day Off in Central Park

You know that giddy feeling you got as a kid when you had a school day off?? That’s what it felt like to bring my boy to Central Park for the first time.

Evan couldn’t stop giggling! I brought him to ‘Sheep’s Meadow’ in Central Park while in NYC for fashion week. He was THRILLED. I’m not sure if it was the skyline, the street sounds, or the sorority girls nearby, but he was the happiest little city babe I had ever seen. At one point he was belly laughing so deeply, he couldn’t breathe for a moment (that’s serious happiness, guys). He was for sure showing off his love for the Big Apple.

My mama and I planned to have a little picnic in Central Park while I had a break between shows. Of course, we didn’t really get to eat because Ev decided he needed to be entertained at. all. times. (#momlife), but I’m pretty sure the belly laughs were FAR better than the kale salads we were going to pretend* to enjoy.

These photos will forever be some of my happiest. They’re so honest and real and true to every feeling we had while at the park. The snapshots also speak to what I’ve been saying about new mamahood for the past few months — yes, it’s hard and terrifying and exhausting. But more than anything, motherhood is LOVE…
