Baby Food 101 | My Boy’s Not Loving It

Don’t you wish YOU looked this cute with food all over your face?!

BUT, as enthusiastic as Ev looks in some of these photos, he’s notttt that into anything other than my milk. Which, by the way, means my body is struggling to keep up… (hello, pumping six times a day and taking every herbal milk boost you can think of). But really, doesn’t he know how trendy greens are right now??!!

We’re nine months in and we’ve tried everything from purees, to small bites, to pouches, to every spoon imaginable… and he’s still feeling just ehhh about baby food. Maybe it’s my cooking? Or my annoying airplane noises? Because he gives me this look like, “I’m so over you mom…” after each attempted bite (see below). His high chair smiles are solely a result of playing with the baby food, rather than actually eating it.

So, I started easing into things by offering food in pouches more often. He seems to love them, and so far — fingers crossed! — he’s actually asking for them. Plum Organics has a lot of our favorite options (he’s obsessed with the pear, spinach + peas flavor). I’ve also made a lot of my own purees and placed them in disposable pouches (Infantino sells them along with the right cooking equipment to do it). He’ll also happily eat eggs and greek yogurt, but not much else (yet). Well except for my ‘boosicles’ which are exactly what you think they are — frozen milk cubes placed in teethers!

I shared some of my foodie favorites for you below — from our high chair, to the bowls we love, to some of the snacks he’s eating!
