Nursery Inspiration: Gender Neutral
Let’s talk BABY NURSERY! A lot of you have been asking if we’ve started the little babe’s room yet. Truth is, it’s still very much a guest room. BUT, we’ve ordered everything. Here’s to hoping the little one doesn’t arrive toooooo early…
The gender is a surprise, so we’ve been searching for neutral ways to make the nursery feel special. We’re leaning toward grays, whites, and soft hues of blue. We’ll add pops of blush or navy to the space later. I know my family will be VERY excited to finally shop for the kiddo after we know if it’s a boy or a girl, so I’m not over-indulging yet. Fortunately, my cousin is also an incredible designer, so she’s helping us create the dreamiest space.
We spent (far too many) hours on Pinterest, looking for nursery inspiration. Ultimately, I loved a few different gender-neutral themes: animals, celestial objects, and music were among my favorites. We’ll likely include a combination of it all. We plan to design a gallery wall of sweet animal portraits, paired with plush elephant blankets and toys. The baby’s mobile will include strands of stars and moons (let’s make this baby a big dreamer)! And lastly, I want to include some kind of music notes piece, with a meaningful song — either a childhood favorite, or lyrics to a song I wrote Jake for our wedding.
Ultimately, what makes any nursery so magical is the LOVE. That, of course, will overwhelm the space once our sweet one arrives. My heart skips a few beats when I think about rocking my little babe to sleep. Or playing it our favorite songs. Or even changing the baby’s diapers. The circle of life is oh-so-beautiful…
