NYFW | Mom Off-Duty Style
This year I did NYFW a bit differently – this was my first year coming without Evan! This is also the longest I have EVER been away without my boy (cue the tears and anxiety)! We had so much going on this trip. Between fashion week itself, and the launch of our newest Summer Fridays product – Overtime Mask, I knew even if I brought him I would barely be able to see him. I also was SO reluctant to disrupt his schedule, he is so so happy in his routine!
It was definitely a learning experience being away for so long. It turned out to be a super positive experience for myself AND Ev! He was perfectly fine – a mantra I will continue to repeat to myself over and over again on any future trips away! The many face-time calls full of laughter and kisses were proof of that. The other lesson: I sometimes NEED some time away! I was so surprised by how refreshed I felt after a few days to myself. You know your a mom when a work trip feels like a vacation (I swear I felt so rested it was like I had been on a tropical vacay for a week). Having an almost-toddler (oh my goodness where does the time go??) is teaching me more and more to let go and let life surprise you.
This was a huge week for us at Summer Fridays – we launched our second baby (product)! We started the week off with a press event at the gorgeous Village Marketing to celebrate. There were masks, cocktails and even a flower filled bathtub that was MADE for an IG moment! After that, the week was a blur of fashion shows, meetings, events and even a trip to the Met! We were fortunate enough to be taken on a private tour of the “Heavenly Bodies” exhibit and it was mesmerizing! We ended the week by getting all glammed up for the Harpers Bazaar Icons party – where I got to live our my teenage dream of seeing Xtina perform live!
Here is a look at my NYFW: mom off-duty style!
