DIY Skincare Recipes with LaurenConrad.com
Ever since becoming a mama-to-be, I’ve been obsessed with DIY skincare. You’ve seen me share homemade lavender masks, body butters + exfoliating scrubs, oftentimes paired alongside my favorite store-bought products that aren’t packed with chemicals.
I teamed up with Lauren Conrad’s team again (LC herself is pregnant, too!) to share some of my favorite homemade recipes. DIY skincare is not only incredible during pregnancy, but it’s also ideal for any time. You can make your favorite recipes at home, knowing precisely what you’re putting on your skin, while saving money… win-win-win!
Keep scrolling for three of my favorite remedies — an oatmeal-rose face mask, a lavender-coconut body scrub, and a nourishing body oil — all used during pregnancy. I was initially inspired by recipes I found online, and have spent months tweaking + making changes to make them my own! I think you’ll love them…
INGREDIENTS: 1/2 c rolled oats | 1/4 c fresh or dried rose petals | 1 tbsp rose water | 1/2 tbsp rose coconut oil (this makes the mask pink!) | 1 tsp honey
INSTRUCTIONS: Combine oats and rose petals in a blender until the consistency is fine and gritty. Pour into a bowl. | Add rose water, rose coconut oil and honey. Stir well. | Apply to face for 10 minutes and rinse.
INGREDIENTS: ¾ c sugar (mix pink and white sugars to create a blush-colored scrub! | ¼ cup pink Himalayan salt | ½ cup coconut oil | 10 drops lavender oil
INSTRUCTIONS: Combine coconut oil and sugars in a bowl and mix well. | Add in salt and lavender oil and stir until combined (the mixture will appear chunky). | Apply to body in shower. Scrub and rinse well!
INGREDIENTS: 2 tbsp jojoba oil | 2 tbsp rosehip oil | 20 drops eucalyptus essential oil
INSTRUCTIONS: Combine all oils in a small dropper bottle (or in an air-tight container and shake well for 30-seconds). | Apply to dry areas on body. Let oil sink into skin before putting on clothes to avoid stains.
