Work Meets Play | Two Weeks in NYC
We’re (almost) to the end of February and WOW this month has been kiiind of a whirwind! Starting with the launch of our newest Summer Fridays product – the Super Amino Gel Cleanser (yayyyyy!!). Then we headed to San Francisco for meetings + a conference with Sephora. It’s an annual summit, and we also get to chat with other brands + brand founders, which is always my favorite part of the experience. From there, we hopped on a flight to New York for a longer-than-usual trip. I had a number of meetings there, along with launch-related plans and fashion week events. BUT THEN, after a very long ten days apart from my boys, Jake and Evan met me in the city, just in time for Valentine’s Day <3 My entire family came to NYC to celebrate my little sis turning 25 (she lives in New York, so we all came to be with her)!! It was truly the best best best!
Side note on the long trip away from my little man: this was the longest trek apart and truthfully it was a tough one on him. I’m not typically gone that long, but it was weird series of events that didn’t allow enough time for me to fly home in between. On the positive side, I had a lot of time to reflect this trip, and ultimately felt really proud that I don’t feel the guilt I used to while traveling. Still the heartache, of course. But not the guilt. I pivoted my outlook from “I’m less of a mom for leaving,” to “I’m my own kind of mom for leaving.”
I am so present, and so intentional with our time together day-to-day, that it makes leaving easier. I don’t have a traditional schedule or routine, which sometimes means I am traveling, but it also means I really get to organize my daily schedule in a way that allows for really special time just the two of us.

Enjoying a slow morning the city. This is not gluten free, or dairy free, or anything free, which is a nice break from LA’s almond-based-sugar-free-cashew-frosted “croissant” LOL.
