Street Styling the Bump | Casual Maternity Fashion
Bumpin’ on hump day! Let’s talk street style — maternity edition. I’ve shared a lot of my pregnancy fashion hacks, from jersey dresses, to maternity denim, to springtime maxi’s and all-black essentials. This time, I wanted to share some of my more casual maternity fashion, to give other mamas-to-be some comfortable ideas perfect for the weekend or a laid back day at the office.
I’ve been rocking these looks on repeat the last couple of months. As I get bigger, I’ve found myself gravitating toward a handful of outfits and wearing them over and over again (it’s too much work to get creative at this point). Seriously, putting on a pair of pants feels like running a marathon. Here are some casual maternity fashion looks to try…
LOOK 1 | jersey skirt or cotton dress layered with a knotted tee
This gray piece is a non-maternity pencil skirt! I pulled it up above my belly, and layered it with a white tee. Knotting the shirt highlights my belly, while giving the look a stylish pop.
LOOK 2 | overalls + fitted shirt
I’ve loved rocking overalls while pregnant, because they fit well over a growing tummy. I’d recommend purchasing maternity overalls, rather than loosening the ones you already own.
LOOK 3 | long sweatshirt or sweater + tennies
Shabbella sent me this sweatshirt to wear over my growing bump! It’s non-maternity, but it’s perfect on my tummy. Plus, I can rock it after the baby. Long sweatshirts and oversized sweaters are a cozy way to stay chic while pregnant.
LOOK 4 | maternity denim + cotton tee + trench
To be honest, maternity denim has become less of a favorite in my ninth month. I tend to gravitate toward COMFORT now. But, it’s still a go-to paired with a cotton tee + trench.
