NYFW Diary: First Looks
I’m currently in the hustle and bustle of New York Fashion Week! The city feels more chaotic than normal, and my schedule has been go, go, go. My feet hurt and I’m pretty sure I’ve eaten too much pizza since I’ve arrived [sigh].
I’m so grateful to share this beautifully busy week with with you! Here’s my first leg of my NYFW diary. I’ll be updating you again at the end of the week, with links to shop every look you see me wear on Instagram + Snapchat. PS. Make sure you’re following along!
DAY 1 | COLOR BLOCKS
Day one got off to an early start. I had my makeup done that morning in my room, before heading off to a series of shows. I also had a shoot with Cibelle Levi, who is snapping my photos in NYC. The evening was spent catching up on work [and curing jet lag]!
Trends on the runways: lace, cutouts, crop tops, plunging necklines, layers [think tees under slip dresses], platform heels + tousled hair + delicate jewelry
DAY 2 | LACE + TOUSLED WAVES
Day two felt more relaxed, because my body was better adjusted to the time change and schedule. I hopped between shows again — all over the city! Everything used to be held in one main area, but designers now sprinkle locations throughout NYC.
Funny fact about fashion shows: they typically start around a half-hour late, and only last about 12 minutes. It’s a lot of ‘hurry up and wait…’
Trends on the runways: embellishments, wide-leg pants, metallic hues, neck scarves, ultra-round sunglasses, midi skirts, loosely tied hair + dewy makeup
DAY 3 | BLUSH HUES + HIGH PONIES
The city was exceptionally warm this day, and I’m pretty sure I have a few dozen new blisters on my feet! I wandered between shows and the ShopStyle event mid-afternoon. After a quick outfit change and power nap, I made it to the Charolette Tilbury x Samsung event with my sweet friend Catt Sadler.
Trends: high-waisted trousers, matching separates, off-the-shoulder pieces, slip dresses, natural makeup, tousled hair + middle parts
