The Naughty Lyst
Year after year, I have this whimsical dream of Jake + I decorating our tree. We’ll be sipping hot cocoa over holiday music while our pup’s dressed in a festive sweater.
… and year after year, this is what really happens: we drink too much wine over a football game, while our pup destroys his Christmas sweater and every gift we’ve wrapped [he’s on the NAUGHTY lyst].
I still managed to get him in a Santa hat while we listened to a little Mariah Carey. Plus, the wine was good and I made a killer peppermint bark [recipe below].
I guess for my whimsical dream to happen, Christmas needs to start post-football season.
MAKE MY PEPPERMINT BARK!
20 oz White Chocolate Chips [2 bags] | 1/2 c Crushed Peppermint | 1/4 c Coconut | 1 tbsp Ghee
Instructions | Melt white chocolate in a saucepan over low heat and add ghee. Stir constantly until smooth. Turn off heat. Stir in 1/4 c crushed peppermint + 1/4 c coconut.
Cover a baking sheet with wax paper and pour the mixture on the pan. Smooth out the mixture until it is about 1/4-inch thick. Sprinkle the remaining peppermint on top of the mixture. Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator and let harden for 45 minutes.
Once solid, remove it from the refrigerator and break into pieces. Garnish plate with candy canes.
