Holiday DIY: Festive Wreaths
Are you prepared for your heart to flutter? Because this DIY project is about to make you swoon.
This is my first year preparing my own wreaths — quite frankly, the thought of it terrified me because it seemed too difficult. My content director [AKA, ‘crafty Katie’], took the fear out of it and proved DIY wreaths are a lot simpler than they appear… [and they’re just so pretty]!
Hint: you can purchase round frames, so you don’t have to build the shape from scratch. That — combined with a glue gun and flower wire — will produce the prettiest wreaths you ever laid eyes on.
Modern Berry Wreath
Materials: Wire Wreath Base | Flexible Greenery | Fake Berries | Floral Wire
Instructions: bundle a piece of greenery with a berry branch | place it on the wire frame | wrap a piece of wire [10″] around the wreath + branches so they connect | repeat until the frame is full
Candy Cane Wreath
Materials: Foam Wreath Base | Flexible Greenery | Candy Canes | Floral Wire
Instructions: lay greenery around the base | stick a piece of wire into the foam and begin wrapping it around the base + greenery | repeat until full | attach a handful of candy canes using floral wire
Rustic Wreath
Materials: Branch Wreath Base | Greenery | Florals
Instructions: pick one side of the wreath to fill | firmly stick short pieces of greenery into the branches so they stay in place | add florals + white berries by placing them into the branches
Pinecone Wreath
Materials: Wood Wreath Base | Pinecones | Glue Gun
Instructions: select pinecones of varying sizes | liberally apply hot glue to one side of each pinecone | press and hold the pinecone onto the base for 30 seconds | repeat until the base is full, switching between small and large pinecones | allow the wreath to dry for 30 minutes
