Skincare Secrets for Tired Skin
New motherhood is MEGA beautiful… annnnnnd super tiring (hello, 5am wake up calls). I started to miss that healthy, beyonce-like glow I had been going after pre-baby. SO, I’ve come to love some skincare miracle-workers that can at least make me look like I slept until 7. New mama or not, I think you’ll love these skincare secrets.
I’m sharing some of my favorite products that help boost my jet-lagged looking skin. I carry some of these items in my diaper bag at all times now! You’ll also notice some home remedies below that are super good for tired-looking skin. I’m sharing something you can eat, drink + apply — all from your kitchen! — to help restore that GLOW!
Clinique Pep-Start Eye Cream | Obviously, eye cream is a must for my new #momlife. Right now I’m loving this one by Clinique. It gives my eyes a little boost, and makes my dark circles look more hydrated. I use it morning and night.
Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask in Champagne | I love a good lip mask (see my DIY version here). This specific one is fun because you can purchase it in clear or color, which can give tired-skin an added boost. It makes my lips feel ‘fuller’ in the sense that they’re more hydrated.
RMS Beauty Raw Coconut Cream | I am obsessed the whole RMS line! This specific product is one of my favorites because it’s a raw coconut cream that I’ve used as a face wash, face lotion AND on dry parts of my body. I think it’s the best, most natural way to restore some moisture in my skin and give me some of my glow back!
Mario Badescu Green Tea Facial Spray | Here’s another brand I’ve loved and used for a really long time. I carry this facial spray in my diaper bag at ALL TIMES, and it gives my skin some hydration throughout the day. Plus, it’s cooling, which makes me feel more awake!
Herbivore Brighten Face Mask | This is a new mask I’ve been trying the last week, and I LOVE it! It truly does make my skin feel ‘brighter’ and more dewy than before. I shared more of my favorite face masks in a post here.
… and here are my favorite skincare secrets to do at home! I’ve long lived by these remedies, even before baby Ev!
DRINK | Cucumber Lemon Water | Infused water is super hydrating for your entire BODY, which ultimately helps your tired skin. Infused water also encourages me to drink more because it tastes better!
EAT | Berries, pistachios + dark chocolate | Berries are full of antioxidants, which make them a great snack for your skin, because they help with inflammation. Pistachios are high in Vitamin E, which help improve skin’s elasticity and (and helps with fine lines)! AND, dark chocolate is helps to abdorb UV light, which also increases blood flow to the skin… (plus, we all need a little chocolate to boost our sanity)!!
APPLY | DIY Hydrating Face Mask: Honey, avocado + plain yogurt
