Lu’s Favorites | Skincare Secrets for Dewy Skin
I feel like my skin looks especially sleepy recently. I’m not sure if it’s the mama role officially taking its toll after several months of nursing (and less sleep!) but I can see the exhaustion — and I wanted to start working on creating dewy skin. I switched up my routine a few weeks ago to give my face a well-deserved boost. Ultimately, I needed products that could (quite literally!) give my skin a glass of water… and probably a hug.
Below are my current go-to products for both skincare and makeup (annnnd can I mention how excited I am to add our Summer Fridays hydrating mask to this list in a couple of months?!) For now, here’s what’s working on my skin…
1 | Arcona Face Wash | this is a super gentle wash while still effectively removing my makeup — I’ve used this brand at all stages of life, from when I struggled with acne, to needing something gentle during pregnancy.
2 | Kopari Coconut Toner | this is really, really gentle on sensitive skin and not as drying as typical toners.
3 | Drunk Elephant Baby Facial | I just used this product for the first time and its name says it all — my skin felt baby soft!
4 | RMS Beauty Coconut Oil | I’ve shared this one with you several times — I love both the beauty oil and the coconut oil as a super clean hydrating solution.
5 | Drunk Elephant Eye Serum | bye bye under eye puffiness and fine lines!
Now let’s talk makeup… as much as I’d love to spend 30-minutes making myself feel pretty everyday, I just don’t have the time anymore! I switched my routine to be super fast, yet still give me enough coverage on red spots and dark circles (on those sleepless nights!) I’ve also been dealing with a lot of eye sensitivity issues and cannot wear a lot of eye makeup right now, so I like my skin to feel especially vibrant since I’m not drawing the attention to the eyes for the moment. Here are some of my favorites…
1| Becca Luminous Foundation | I love the lightweight feel of this foundation, while still giving my skin enough coverage (and a glow, for that dewy skin feel!)
2 | Nars Blush Stick in Maui | this is a serious mama must-have because it’s easy to reapply on the go, and gives your cheeks a natural shine
3 | Kora Organics Luminizer | I think this is a game-changer for glowing cheeks and eyelids — I apply a small amount on my cheekbones and just below my eyebrow line.
4 | RMS Beauty Lip and Cheek Tint | this one has remained a part of my go-to routine for more than a year now — it’s clean and subtle.
5 | Smith’s Rose Bud Lip Balm | the best, best, best lip balm for super dry lips (and it smells amazing!)
