Get the Look: No Makeup-Makeup
I WOKE UP LIKE THIS! Okay, but really, we all want our skin to look effortlessly beautiful. I call this my no makeup-makeup look.
Basically, it’s my go-to for when I want to appear as though I didn’t try at all in the morning [when really, I totally tried]. It’s the look I lean on when I want my freckles to shine through, or my skin to glow. It’s one of my favorites, and one that many of you have written me about. Try my tricks and let me know if you love it. Natural is IN…
TINTED MOISTURIZER | Use a daily tinted moisturizer with SPF. This helps cover light blemishes, while protecting your skin from sun damage. Some of my favorites are by Jouer, Laura Mercier + Kate Somerville.
LIGHT FOUNDATION | If you’re feeling blotchy or battling breakouts, a tinted moisturizer may not be enough coverage. Try applying a light foundation using a sponge, focusing on the under-eyes and nose. My favorites are by Urban Decay and Tarte.
CREAM BLUSH | Cream-based blush is the key to giving your face color while still keeping things natural. The dewy finish will give your skin a beautiful, natural glow. Some of my favorites are by Honest, Bobbi Brown, and Sephora. Blend it into your cheeks.
HIGHLIGHTER | This is a subtle yet significant step of mastering the no makeup-makeup look. Apply highlighter to your cheek bones, eyelids, and just above your lip. It will leave your skin glowing! Some of my favorites are Laura Geller and L’Oreal.
EYELASH CURLER | Curl your eyelashes to appear awake and refreshed!
BARELY-THERE MASCARA | Lightly apply mascara to merely the ends of your lashes. Leave the bottom lashes untouched. This technique will make your eyes appear wide, while maintaining a super-natural look. My favorites are YSL, Benefit and Revlon.
